Paul,

I respect your conscience, while not sharing it.

Baha'u'llah's Teachings do not include pacificism. There
is a time for war, and this is it. If only we were living in a world
of simple choices, rather than this vale of tears, forced to choose
between evil and worse evil. In my view, as a fervent life-long
supporter of the United Nations, I believe it has indeed failed, thus
far, in its central obligation to defend the principles codified in its
Charter, a bitter, difficult, but necessary truth to recognize. There's
plenty of blame to go around.... I discuss that elsewhere.

"Evil continues and endures." --Abdul-Baha. The Creator has put us
in a world that requires us to fight it or allow it to crush and
destroy ourselves and others, though many live in vague dreams....

"Bind ye the broken with the hands of justice, and crush the oppressor who
flourisheth with the rod of the commandments of your Lord, the Ordainer, the
All-Wise." --Baha'u'llah
